The proper burning of a candle is very important, especially for a beeswax candle. The first burn, along with subsequent burns should allow time enough for the candle to 'well', meaning melt completely across the diameter o the candle. The standard is for every inch of diameter you allow 1 hour of burning time. In doing this a candle will burn so there is very little, if any, waste of the wax. The only thing left will be the metal wick holder on the bottom of the container.
(See documents in Footer Menu to find additional guidelines to burning different candles.)
